2015 Week 14 Day 2 – Birthday Boy. Yes, another birthday is almost upon us, but there is never one far away in this house! To celebrate my husband’s birthday, I arranged for my parents to have the children whilst we both spent the night in London. So, after a spot of lunch in the Food Market at Kensington, we headed off for a wander around West London and Paul couldn’t resist a little look as we walked past the Polish Embassy.
And then we headed in to the V&A museum for a bit of culture – Michelangelo’s David, a plaster cast of original statue, is a sight to behold!
and there were other wonders too
We then headed off to Harrods, passing many cafes with hookah pipe smokers – I would have loved to stop to observe them more!
Fighting our way through the crowds at Harrods, we decided it was too hot and too busy to be enjoyable, so we went instead to the 5th floor at Harvey Nic’s and had an aperitif, before heading back to the hotel for a quick change of clothes and then supper at The Roof Gardens in Kensington.
