More jubilee celebrations in our village today, with an afternoon of Junior Olympics to get everyone in the mood for the 2012 Olympics soon to come to GB. Here is Barnaby practicing his dribbling skills, earning points for the red team.

The Diamond Jubilee Today we celebrated the Queen’s diamond  at a street party in our village, along with the village over the river, and we were perhaps the longest street party in the country at over 1km long. So how could I just post one picture? Here are a select few.

I wanted to get a pic of one of the boys blowing the dandelion seeds out, but they just didn’t get the hang of waiting for the camera or doing it in a sweet way – that’s boys for you! So the one remaining head was captured before being promptly pulled up and blown.  

The fantastic weather continues and so time to get the shade sail out for a bit of protection whilst enjoying the glorious days. Even the kids are asking to eat outside! Summer must be round the corner!

Today we spent the day in the beautiful Oxfordshire village of Ardington, where we explored the Ardington Millennium Sundial – thirteen pairs of standing stones – and discovered the nine planets of the Solar System, depicted by stone discs. Very apt, as Barnaby’s maths homework this week was learning about telling the time!
