2014 Week 45 Day 5 – Remembrance Sunday. The (slightly hungover) village was out in full force for Remembrance Sunday, a day “to commemorate the contribution of British and Commonwealth military and civilian servicemen and women in the two World Wars and later conflicts”. It is held on the second Sunday in November, the Sunday nearest to 11 November, Armistice Day, the anniversary of the end of hostilities in the First World War at 11 a.m. in 1918.Paul went with the eldest two for the beaver and cubs parade and I went with the littlies and managed to keep them relatively quiet for the 11am silent minute. However, Willow then ran amok!
We then went for a family walk, not quite believing how hot is was for mid November! This is a typical family shot – Felix running up to the camera shouting! Alexei was much calmer but hasn’t got the hang of looking natural for the camera. After walking by the river, looking at the lovely houses, we walked over the bridge to get a bite to eat at the cafe by the river. I then had the priviledge of having just Barnaby on his own for half an hour, as he wanted to go to the playground when the others decided to go home.
